Week 17

You are 12.5cm. Your eyes are closed but you are beginning to grow eyelashes and eyebrows.

You weigh the same. Your cords are tangled 😟 we pray for you each day!

You love to dance and cuddle each other xx

You are girls! πŸ’—πŸ’— xx

An update on mummy:

Very tired as recovering from plane delays and lack of sleep. Work went well even though my co-manager was on leave.

So happy to see you on the scan and even nicer to have a surprise at midwife appointment to see you again and see your hearts are strong!

Mummy’s blood is all good and urine fine. Legs and feet a little swollen since the flight so need to raise them when I can. Gripey tummy at times.

I told work that I will leave at end of October- so soon!

Lovely to see Nanny and Grandpa for cuddles.

Worried about you but hopeful and trusting in God!! Praying for life! May you have abundant life to the full! We love you! Xx

Me and you… What have we been doing this week?

After the lovely time in Kefalonia we had delays on our flight home. Very tired and Aunty Bom Bom picked us up. Got home at 5am. She had to work at 7am!

We met our consultant on 2nd August. We saw your heart beats and spines and ribs. We heard your heart beats nice and strong.

Mummy and Daddy were shown diagrams of how you have one placenta and one sac. We hope to have you mid November by c section. We will see you on a scan every two weeks.

We hadn’t planned to know your gender but the consultant offered. Mummy and Daddy looked at each other and agreed to know now. So excited you are girls!! πŸ’—πŸ’—

Nanny and Grandpa came to visit. Nanny is knitting you cute tiny hats and has made beautiful soft blankets for your pram. Nanny can’t stop stroking you in my tummy. πŸ’•
.

Week 16

You are now 11cm. The size of an avocado.

You kick and somersault and have perfectly formed fingers and toes. You can frown. You now breathe in and out tiny amounts of amniotic fluid, getting ready for when you breathe outside mummy’s womb.

An update on mummy:

This week I have been off the progesterone pessaries as I shouldn’t need it anymore but a blood test showed it was a bit low for twins so going back on them to ensure you are going to be ok!! Thankful to God for his provision and that we have been prescribed progesterone from the Life Fertility clinic and having blood tests.

Whilst on holiday mummy had her first colostrum. My bump is harder and bigger. Sleepless moments at night time. Less nausea but still need to eat breakfast as soon as I get up.

Only feeling sick in the mornings. Feeling up and down. Craving feta and salads.

You and me … What have we been doing this week?

Mummy and daddy were very excited to take you on your first trip abroad. We flew to Kefalonia for our 10th wedding anniversary. Very hot but beautiful scenery. Mountainous drives, stunning beaches, noisy cicadas, cute geckos, turtles at the harbour, glistening pool and shady gardens. Long road names on google maps. The planes flew over Ammes beach. Kittens and cats hungry for feta, wasps wanting our food but the Greeks used burning coffee! Pythos, lake in a cave.

045-IMG_9159

Met my very good friend before our holiday. Showed her the charting we used to conceive you. 😚 we pray she and her husband will have a baby too!

Week 15

You are each about 9cm. Your bodies are now in proportion and getting heavier.

An update on mummy:

My tummy is showing much more. Still feeling tired but less sick. I have been able to take less of my anti sickness tablets.

Got a lovely card from Great Uncle D and Great Aunty E to say congratulations.

Had a nose bleed and was sick one day. The constant sneezy blocked nose is meant to be normal at this stage. Can’t wait to feel you kick. Sometimes I feel tightness and what I think may be movement but likely just wind!!

There is a heatwave so staying out of the sun. Wearing new dresses ready for holiday. Daddy making ice and putting on the air con unit.

I enjoyed seeing the team at work. Trained them in a cool meeting room πŸ˜…

You and me… What did we do this week?

Mummy and daddy didn’t expect to see you this week, but when mummy was examined by the specialist to check all ok with her cervix on 18th July he did a quick scan.

We heard your strong heart beats and saw you move! We love you so much ❀️❀️

We visited our friend who is due next week. We talked about pregnancy and got excited to meet our babies. She gave mummy a maternity skirt and baby bouncer. πŸ˜„

Week 14

You are each about 8cm. The size of a lemon.

Your hearts pump at 140 beats a minute and your kidneys produce urine. You have lanugo (fine body hairs) and your eyes are more in the centre of your face now.

An update on mummy:

Mummy felt better this week but still a bit sick.

My tummy is protruding more and more and I have hardness in my abdomen now too. I bought some palmers anti stretch mark cream. I get itchy skin on my legs so using more moisturiser.

I am getting excited about you and being hopeful and trusting God that you won’t get tangled in each other’s cords!

I have been singing ‘break every chain’ and saying ‘you may live and proclaim what the Lord has done for you’.

Daddy has been planning where you are going to sleep in our room when you arrive.

Been watching YouTube for ideas on what you will need and how I will feed you.

Feeling tired even on short walks. Tired but happy. I crave cheese and guacamole.

You and me..what did we do this week?

This week we managed to go into work Wednesday and Friday but still mainly working from home.

Went to friends one evening and talked about pregnancy, ate moussaka and watched ‘Bridesmaids’ and ‘what to expect when you’re expecting’ – very funny.

Mummy bought your new tandem pram (twin Icandy peach blossom in blackjack colour) in faith! It was a bargain on eBay. Mummy and daddy went to High Street Kensington to collect it from a lovely Chinese American lady called Esther. Just what I wanted for you both. The best and top of the range!

Went to visit our Nigerian friends at a BBQ to celebrate their month old baby boy. Lots of Nigerian food and some very happy guests when I said I was carrying twins!! I held their baby and thought about one day holding you in my arms precious twins.

It was nice to tell a few more people at our Wednesday group and get to know our new vicar’s wife better 😊

Week 13

You each measure 7cm. You can make different faces.

An update on mummy:

Mummy’s main diet seems to be tomato soup and cheese sandwiches. What I have most days!

I wrote to the January birth club on Baby Centre who are all having scans.

Tried to come off my anti-sickness tablets but not ready yet.

Very excited to know there are two of you! God answered my prayers. Feeling blessed and loved!

Reading lots of success stories of momo twins. God has chosen us for such unique babies.

Won’t have another scan until 2nd August so need to give all to God and see what the consultant says. Trying not to google too much or to get worried. Concentrating on positive thoughts.

Me and you… What did we do this week?

Young squirrel was at our patio door. So cute! We dream of when you can play in our garden and in the park on the swings and slide. You will have so much fun and laughter. You will know all the bird songs like mummy and daddy will show you the swans at the lido!

On the family what’s app group we use the dancing and baby faces symbols – so sweet.

Great to take pictures of a twin bump from now on!!

Bought charity shop clothes for holiday.

You are our gifts from God!

The Big day – your twelve week scanΒ

Identical twins!! You are two of a kind! ❀️❀️

Mummy didn’t sleep before the scan as she was very nervous but excited to finally see you after all these weeks.

Are you actually there? Sickness, stretching and tiredness are the only things that make me know you are real.

We were called in almost straight away by Shrada, a lovely ultrasound lady. I had to drink lots of water but she didn’t mind too much. Mummy had cold jelly put on her belly. Daddy held mummy’s hand 😍

Almost immediately I could see two blobs and I looked at Shrada and she could see it too. Then daddy realised when she asked if we had twins in the family.

There you were. Two gorgeous dancing but cuddling babies. You waved and moved and we heard your faint but strong heartbeats! The nuchal measurements were good. You share the same placenta and amniotic sac!!

Daddy was in shock but so very happy you are ok and mummy always wanted twins so cried with joy!

I then couldn’t contain my giggles and praised God!

Shrada was excited as she rarely gets to see twins. She let us see you in 4d. We could see how much blood you exchanged. We were told you were special and that there are lots of risks but we need to be hopeful and pray lots.

We are so excited to have two beautiful bundles of joy. You both have all your fingers and toes and you already love each other as you cuddle lots!!

20161107_134653

We couldn’t wait to tell everyone and so we did! Grandpa and Nanny, Grandma and Grandad and Aunties are so excited too!

We had made a video and had to change it to say there are two of you. We put it on Facebook and over a hundred friends liked it πŸ˜„

One of you is 3mm bigger than the other.

You are a type of twin that is 1% of all twins and a chance in 60,000!

You are momo twins… Mcma… Monochorionic monoamniotic twins!

Week 12

You are 6cm. A plum.

You major organs are working. You can feel pain and your brain is developing. You can cry out. Hair is forming, nails are growing and you have eyelids!

An update on mummy:

Taking the anti sickness tablets and feeling more or less normal.

Cravings – iced lollipops (rocket shaped that nanny and grandpa bought me and put in freezer)

Progesterone test result was good- Praise God!

So lovely to go into work to see everyone even though feeling sick at times.

Some sleepless nights but a few better ones.

Nervous but excited to have reached week 12! What an amazing achievement! πŸ˜„

Me and you… What did we do this week?

Booked our anniversary holiday which will be the last holiday abroad before meeting you!!

Told nanny and grandpa that we don’t want to know if you are a boy or girl until you are born. For now we call you sproglet !

Pipsqueak the mouse was naughty and bitey. A friend at church offered to give us a lift to the airport for our holiday.

Enjoyed a BBQ with friends – a bit cold but no rain this year!

Week 11

You are 5cm. Officially a foetus. A lime!

You can swallow, suck and stick out your tongue! You have tooth buds!

An update on mummy:

Mummy felt so sick she went to see the doctor who gave her some anti sickness tablets to take. They helped lots and I had some days of not feeling sick hardly at all. I felt incredibly tired and exhausted so I still worked from home. Very happy to be able to see friends and go for walks in the park. I had some stretchy pains, backache and I am finding it difficult to hide the bump!

My nails are actually getting harder for once – they normally break!

A few friends who don’t know said I looked tired and off colour πŸ˜„

Moments of not feeling poorly has enabled me to look on line for cute clothes and Oran’s and I bought a new Hana wrap so I can hold you close to me when you are born ☺️

Keep eating cheese(mm) and cooked chicken skin! Loving ice lollies too!

Can’t wait to see you in a week on the scan!!

Me and you… What did we do this week?

It rained lots this week πŸŒ‚but some sunshine in between. β˜€οΈ

Walks in the park, went to church, had fun at a games evening, went on a grown up swing. Mummy and daddy voted. The people voted to leave. Upset by a divided nation. We need to hope and trust in God.

Looked at possible holiday destination for 10 year anniversary- a last holiday before you arrive.

Played with the mice. You are all the same size roughly.

This week has been European football. Told two more close friends from church about you. Daddy told our new vicar. They were very happy.

Week 10

You are 3.5 cm. A grapeπŸ‡

You can move. You have hair follicles and a definite nose and ears. You have fingerprints!

Father’s Day- Daddy is so happy to be your Dad!! 😊

An update on mummy:

Another week – what a milestone!

Working from home again as lots of sickness and nausea. Managed a walk in the park after the rain πŸ˜…

Apprehensive, tired, gassy.

Thursday I was so tired and had a headache so I took time off. Work co-manager and line manager are very supportive and very pleased about you in my tummy.

Trying different ways to deal with sickness: mashed potato (especially bubble and squeak) seems to be good for us!! A glass of milk and 2 chocolate chip cookies worked for us for a few mornings. Carrying a bag round with me in case.

Finding it hard to keep you a secret precious baby. People wonder why I am poorly. Can’t wait to tell more people soon.

You are tiny but my uterus is huge it seems.

Enjoying my new bra that nanny helped me choose. Lots of shoulder pain. A tad worried but it soon went away. Cherishing each day despite feeling sick ❀️

Cravings – guacamole, baked beans, mashed potato..

Me and you… What did we do this week?

Friday mummy and daddy and you in my tummy went to our first appointment with the midwife. Queen Charlotte’s hospital is just off the A40 and we didn’t realise it is right next door to Hammersmith hospital which we visited over a year ago for an IVF info eve. It’s in a lovely area next to a park, although interestingly next to a big prison.

Lots of pregnant mummies in a hot waiting room. Saw a midwife called Sarah and her student Robyn. Daddy had back pain and a sore throat 😞

Sarah went through medical history And told us what appointments we need over the next 6 and half months. Very excited that we will get to see you on a scan on 5th July! The 16 week appointment would be on mummy and daddy’s 10th wedding anniversary so I changed it to 1st August instead.

Urine sample was fine for diabetes and antibodies. Had blood tests. Sarah said I should see my GP about anti sickness tablets as the sickness is affecting normal life!

Ate a jacket potato at master chef cafe. Some friends announced they had a baby boy. Our other friends have only 6 weeks to their little boy!

Mummy’s pet mice are growing and being naughty (Blueberry, Matilda, Pipsqueak and Minnie).

Week 9

You are 2cm. You have your fingers and toes. You are starting to have facial features and you have taste buds.

An update on mummy:

Wow 9 weeks! So happy to have gotten so far. Enjoying cuddles and prayers about you with Daddy! Sickness is almost unbearable but I know this is all because of good hormones.

Wow it hurts to sneeze from pulled ligaments. Don’t fit into any of my bras and very painful. Back hurts at night and I can feel my uterus stretching getting ready  for you to grow. working from home as I need to run to the bathroom lots.

Managed a weekend without being sick!

I had bacon and beans each morning and lots of cuddles from family. Just what I needed!

So happy to be given a beautiful journal to write about you as you develop by your lovely Aunty M (mummy’s sister)

Feeling very supported by my friend who has been messaging lots πŸ˜„

Me and you… What did we do this week?

Nanny and Grandpa  (mummy’s mummy and daddy) came to see us for the weekend. Aunty Bombom (Daddy’s sister) and Grandma (Daddy’s mummy) visited too and we had huge hugs. One of mummy’s close friends popped over and she, mummy and Nanny and Grandpa all went to the park! We laughed as Nanny and Grandpa tried the gym equipment and then went on the big round swing. We went on the swing too!

Some good friends came over for prayer. They will have a baby soon and feeling anxious.

Unfortunately I couldn’t go to church and play Drums, but seeing family and friends made me so very happy.

With sick bag at the ready you me and nanny went to mothercare to buy a new maternity bra! We saw so many cute prams and clothes and imagined what you will look like when you are born😘

Nanny and Grandpa are so excited about you and we agreed to meet up more often!

What helps mummy? – ginger tea, crackers and cottage cheese, tomatoes soup, ginger sweets

Progesterone levels are good- thank God for the Life fertility staff.
